Poem

Life Begins

The sun slowly crawls
up into the horizon
signaling the creatures
of the light to awake
sending the creatures
of the dark to their sleep
with each dawn is a new birth

As the Earth moves through
the cycles of life
I find that I have
found new life
a new birth into the light
as a new born baby
my eyes have been opened
a spark that started
with a cry is now
a scream for life

In the depths of despair
in the clutches of hell
knowing there is no way
to go but to die
a small light shines through
saying take my hand
let your burdens you carry
be mine and let me help you
carry the pain and the strife

Let me help you stand
I am young I know
yet words of wisdom
I have to give...please live
the path of death is
not what we expect
learning first hand I have
take my hand...please live

There is light in your eyes
death has said she does not wish you
stand and be tall say to me
yes life is where I need to be
you and I have much to do
to express all we are
to all who will hear
do not put out this light
the all so fragile spark
we as others call life
