Learn What We Live

We sit and watch the evening news,
with stories of death and violence.
Our movies portray murder, as just another day.
And even the cartoons for our children,
have more weapons and death then war.
The internet crowded with sexual intent,
violence and how to make a more.
Is it any wonder then, that our children cry out.
They search for love and understanding,
but only find weapons and hurt.
Why are we so shocked when the news man says,
There’s been another school shooting, thirteen are dead.
The toys on the market shelf, reflect our own world,
with guns and knives, and impelled mummies, and more.
It has been said, “Children learn what the live”,
This is true my friend, just look around and see.
Children are killing each other, for they learn what they live.
