Interstate Studs

Three of us there
Sitting, waiting for a friend
At the edge of the interstate restaurant's parking lot
Arguing my future - and the philosophy of movement
Never felt so bad - never been better.

Then that girl came
A stranger in our midst
Cast against those rain-cloud skies
And she says: Hi!
Mike responds with similar bravado
Then she walks into the restaurant.

Do you know that girl? Rami asks
No. Answers Mike.
Guess we're just a bunch of interstate studs
Says Rami, very obviously joking.
We all laugh heartily.
This is all the heaven I need.
