Its Hurricane Season
Its that time again folks when anxiety 's plagued
The eyes to the south and the next tropical wave
Who has the water...stock piles of canned goods?
Tape up the windows and head for the woods!
What's in the category...its all bags of wind
Tropical fevers...roofs blow and bend
Birds start out northward if they have any clue
Nature warns man from clouds gray and blue
Sixth sense of the sparrow to dodge the wind
Food for their journey...babies to tend
Pet food for animals locked in the garage
Or taken on journeys not use to the voyage
Kids packing games and books for the trip
Anxious Moms warning too much and it rips...
Bags that protrude...heirlooms of life
Torn yellowed pages of everyday strife
Add to this mixture the business man
Financial empire caught in his hands
All in a briefcase, packed in the car
Albums and birth things from days still ajar
Wonder of nature this big bag of wind
Cleansing the coastlines...her way to mend
The path of mankind that has taken his turn
Then gives into her and this tropical burn
It blows with a vengeance...it soaks to the bone
For those less fortunate it takes away homes
Hurricanes coming...insurance in line
Haven for aged ones their folk tales to pine
For those were the days when...I road out Camille
Lived to respect nature and know how she feels
Get to higher ground, take the heed of the snakes
Check gas in your auto and watch out for wet brakes
Get out sirens warn...of impending disaster
Get going right now...try harder...move faster
The clouds turn to mountains of angry chiffon
The winds start to hurt as they form a bond
Like Sherman's march its time to close mouths...
Its coming for sure this march to the south
Take heed all you flatlanders...run for the hills
Get all of your treasures and even the wills
For no telling when nature will finish her visit
For now just go safely til its over...or is it?
That's one hurricane compared to the rest..
Each one has a character much different at best
Its a game of chance calling and odds that's a has been
