Poem

My Freckles

I am in numbers all Robin-egg speckled
I live in groups all splattered and tickled
In ochre's and browns...a little sienna
A Tad of mahogany...even on bananas
I brighten the smiles and cheeks of my hosts
I glorify flesh-tones with my happy boasts
The children with pinched cheeks in rosy abundance
Can smile with a splash of splattered on dalliance
A large one here and a smaller right there
This ones shaped funnier than old Einstein's hair
The sun kisses some while birthing the others
Then tans cause some to merge with their brothers
Whoops! Maybe sisters...but in any case
They sing and dance all over my face
Some people hate them but for me its a factor
Its part of my make-up, to love me with character
I adore all my spots like a leopard with glory
My freckles are me...that's another love story.
