As my life comes to a close
as my time here comes to an end
when my life passes before my eyes
and to the beyond I must soon tend

Thats when all of my lifes triumphs
and any good that I may have done
will flash back through my mind
along with any loves I have won

Its within that list I will find you
along with that pure love we shared
that memory will bring tears to my eyes
for sweet love that my heart beared

For life held such joy and promise
I felt there was nothing I couldn't do
babe that was how I truly did feel
until that sorry day that I lost you

Why you were my life's true treasure
and the best love I have ever felt
but you weren't meant to be mine
so I must face the cards I'm dealt

Yes I have made mistakes in my life
and their effects here I have met
but losing you and the love you gave
will now always be my life's regret

Yes I have lost your love darling
and spent my life without you here
and as my life comes to a close
