Saviodsilva

George Stephen Stapleton
Poem

Odious

Odious
this heart of mine

Even when an orchid attempts to grow
to push up next to me
smelling sweetly

The calloused old muscle beats
but does not feel
pumps
but does not smell her pollen

It's hardened cells of seasons past
lifeless and decaying
smother her with rotten perfume
and cast the flower away
