Nature's Potion

Who needs a love potion when you follow a lead
Who knows but hearts when heads lean to cede
Beating...clear rapture...I guess is the words
Just gone with the flow...it seems so absurd
I haven't the strength to debate my own heart
It tells me he's special...he fits my parts
I've been on HOLD for the past fifteen years
I've wagered this heart and counted the tears
It conditioned in time...but never gave in
I knew, yep I knew...that my heart would win
Funny how fate initiates a call...
Sneaking in the blindside when hearts start to fall
I'm scoring the edge...taking the line
I thought more than once, Well this one looks fine
Alas...not the one but check out his smile
He's tall and handsome...you can see him for miles
Nope! It ain't him...he don't fit the puzzle
Nor him...he's okay... but he'll need a muzzle
There's those with great charm and savoir faire
There's those who run at the thought of a dare
Then suits...GQ smiles and faster looks
Just another chapter in some dusty old book
They came and departed...not leaving much
An arm ornament here...for others a crutch
Then without a knock...he whispered in
A writer, a naturalists...this gentle man
Then my heart started...his passions to savor
I knew this man was just the right flavor
With a little of everything I always wanted
Please take it slowly...I'm now a goner
Passions unzipped me...my flesh opened up
He settled on in and zipped himself shut
He stays with me always and walks where I tread
He whispers I love you deep in my head
He sleeps then he wakens...he works right with me
I'm zipped shut and happy and him...well he's tree'd
