Saviodsilva

George Stephen Stapleton
Poem

My Starved Heart Hangs

On silent telephone wires
hangs my starved heart.
Nailed at the corners
in soul-piercing anguish
She does not call,
She does not write
To tell me of her affections.
On her sinewy skin I placed
my last tenderness, hoping
hoping but vanishing
