Soft Shade of Blue

A wonderful love was finally found,
A wonderful love was lost without a sound.
As fast as the speed of light it came,
In a blink of an eye it was never the same.
Promises of great happiness and days to come were made,
Hearts were broken and tears fell in a somber serenade.
Separation was inevitable and fresh lives were started,
Months passed by with nothing but emptiness since they departed.
Ignoring true feelings and falsely putting on an air,
Trudging on day after day as if not having a single care.
True friendship is valued and all pain is placed in denial,
Walls are built so high hoping for protection from feelings for a while.
Succumbed by loneliness and seclusion,
Life then becomes nothing more than a delusion.
Longing and searching for others to love thee,
Finding nothing but locked hearts that contain no key.
In a cautious endeavor to deeply hide a love so true,
Two hearts are safely tucked away and gently covered in a Soft Shade of Blue.

*We all are guilty of hiding and not facing the truth, for we fear for our hearts being broken. Who or what are we hiding from? Is it ourselves or the one's that we truly love? Only you hold the answer within. Do not waste your life away and do find your love to stay.
