Open Your Eyes and Heart

It is said that love is everlasting and true,
No matter what happens or whatever you may do.

Then, without seeing or knowing, in a sudden flash,
It is quickly turned into nothing but a pain from the past.

Such statements as: You have changed...You are not the person that I fell in love with are made,
Not seeing that it was merely an adaptation that one could not escape nor evade.

If one is to look deep within their love's heart ,
They would find that their wholeness never did part.

We confuse what it is that we see in everyday living,
We tend to become blind and ever so unforgiving.

The one thing that all of us need to do just for a short while,
Is to walk in another's shoes for no more or no less than a mile.

Life is hard to understand and has many times of bliss,
None of us go untouched or unmissed.

Take time out of your hectic and busy day,
Look closely and you shall be surprised what may come your way.

We all have been caught up within ourselves, which is innocently done so,
Learn what you have seen and experienced and it shall never become your woe.

For one to admit who they are and that they are neither better nor perfect by far,
Is when happiness and steadfast love shall be found like a shooting star.

Never let yourself become sad and never worry,
Remember that Love is never having to say you're sorry.

It has been said that Forgiving is forgetting,
Such genuine words and great philosophy have been put in writing.

Always recollect that a kind word and a smile shall go a long way,
Why not make yourself feel good and make another's day?

Love thyself, walk with confidence and dream of better days to come,
Life will then endlessly be wonderful and darkness shall inevitably succumb.


*I can openly admit that I am guilty of doing all that I have written. It is now and forever my goal never to do so again. I can honestly say to myself and to others that my Eyes and Heart have finally been opened.: )
