What is death?
Is it painful or frightening?
No!
It is peace, serenity and tranquility.
All of the troubles of the world will be
lifted from your frail and tired shoulders.
This is all replaced with an
overwhelming calmness.
It is so astonishing that it makes
you wonder why it never existed in
the living world.
This world is filled with all of the
wonderful pleasures that are
taken for granted or forgotten.
There is no hate lingering about or
any hurt waiting to be lunged
towards another.
Death should not be viewed as
a long-term emptiness.
You will always be there in their
hearts and memories.
People should be happy and relieved
for a loved one who has passed into
the other world.
They have no pain or worries, though
the living will always be missed.
Rest assured that they will be watching
over you until you arrive to their
newly found happiness.
So, never fear death for it is a true
friend waiting with open arms.
Arms that will hold and rock you
to safety and serenity.
This poem was written after the passing of my older sister, Rosemarie,
and my younger brother, Richard.
They now have peace.
