Poem

Natures Grander Days

Take a canvas big as earth...paint it midnight blue
Synchronize this mass with stars
Bleached and shining through
Then sketch a moon so grand with charm
In golden shades and hues
Of illuminating phosphorous
In ochre's, whites and blues
A comet shooting...tail afire
Trailing through the sky
Passed novas smiling eyes so big
As angels wave bye bye
A swing to sway imagining
With dreams to see us through
And all the pains of life are gone
With nature and her crew
You see the grand finale
As rainbows pallet fills
With each and every raindrop
That slides down natures hills
Kaleidoscopes of crystal tint
To wash the earth with color
A brush so fine of sable hairs
To make the clouds look fuller
Pastures green with dusted dew
As tears that linger here
Among each blade of slender growth
As mirrors of her tears
For man is tender of this earth
And master of his ways
If we can't do earth better
Then soon, we'll live to pay
Through sacrificing beauty
To dullness of the grays
For now we smile through eyes that see
Never dreaming of the day
When negligence can come to call
Scorn us...demand her pay
When earth was full of truer hues
And we saw her better days.
