Poem

Reflecting Confusion

I turn to face my back toward the wall
from somewhere beyond, my emotions call
so many feelings I'm not ready to face
among them is fear, hiding in place

Pain and anger silently shout
anxious and freedom try to get out
torment, enraged is roaming his lair
frustration subsides, pulling out hair

Violence shows weakness by becoming provoked
humor laughs as if it's all but a joke
on its last nerve, patience is tried
shame blushes and chokes, swallowing pride

Subservience responds upon demand
narrow minded ignorance cannot understand
obsession and jealousy say me, me, me
impulsive and foolish are blind and don't see

Passion and lust become romantically involved
discust cannot fathom all that's evolved
purity is innocent right from the start
love only attempts to follow the heart

I turn back to face the wall
tear by tear, my emotions fall
so many feelings I just cannot place
reflecting confusion upon my face
