Poem

Restless

Tonight the sky is overcast.
I couldn't see your star.
It was then I almost panicked,
And I wondered where you were.
There are moments in my lifetime,
When my passion is laid bare.
My emotions run with shadows.
And restlessly I dare,
To taste the dreams of ventures...
In the realm of the unknown,
And fly into the heavens,
To finally seek a home.
Where you are there awaiting me,
With arms extended wide...
To sit with you and ponder,
Should I stay up here and ride?
I could catch the tails of comets...
Ride through the Milky Way.
Say Hello to Orion, and...
Then be on my way.
Passed the planet of Venus,
On to Jupiter and Mars.
Dust the Cosmos with my laughter...
Put more twinkle in the stars.
I could swing from wings of angels,
I would tickle all their feet...
Tie their hair up all in tangles,
Then gently fall asleep.
With the wings of heavens shadows,
As my dreams take me to Earth,
I would waken with the laughter...
Of life and all it's worth.
And the freedom of my travels,
That took my thoughts to you.
And the kiss of all those angels,
And the love of one so true...
Will stay with me forever,
As I ponder midnight blue.
For the dreams of us together,
Plus the passions of your charm...
And the smile that was inviting...
With the glow that kept me warm...
That's all I need for now love.
In a sky turned black to blue,
Interspersed with diamonds...
As I sit and think of you.
I thank the world for all that's good.
And I pray with all my might,
I can hear your laughter echo,
As it touches me tonight.
