Poem

Poets and Chefs

The ingredients for poetry, like those of a recipe,
Must be planned, and harvested with care.
Until this happens, the page and pan remain blank.
First, the food of creativity elude us to the point of despair,
Then ingredients for this recipe slowly come to life.
One ingredient after another and soon we have success.
Words pour onto the page and food into the pan,
Slowly it all comes together into something satisfying,
Warming spirit and flesh with sweet reflections of love.
Poets and Chefs use words and ingredients of choice,
To please, entice, and inspire the audience before them.
