Touch My Heart

I have allowed you to touch my heart,
To see the scars and to feel the love.
There is no one to blame here on earth or way up above,
It is a lesson well learned and one that shall never part.
I have no regrets or second thoughts for what I have done,
I shall not speak a harsh word or even make a sound.
My life has not ended but has merely begun,
An old love has been lost but a new love shall be found.
I shall continue to dream of happiness,
Of days filled with bright sunshine and colorful flowers galore.
There will never be dark clouds or gray shades of loneliness.
Only I have control of my destiny, fate and so much more.
I will give you some words of wisdom and very good advice,
Honestly and unconditionally love the one that you hold dear.
Before you do unto others, always think twice,
Love yourself first before you show someone else that you care.
Open your eyes so that all can be seen and ears so that all can be heard,
Do this and wonderful things shall come your way.
You will always see friendly smiles and forever hear a kind word,
A warmness will wrap around you and there it will stay.
If my heart is to be touched once more,
I have plainly written my words and they cannot be ignored or pushed aside.
An honest and true love is the only possible way to open its door,
Only then may you enter it gently and softly settle yourself inside.



**This poem is dedicated to those who have touched my heart. Even though they never truly saw or felt the magnitude of my love, I hold them dearly in my memories and thoughts. I have learned that true love cannot be taught, only experienced. Always remember, when you open your heart, also open your eyes or you shall miss a love of a lifetime. You cannot turn back the hands of time, so seize the moment and hold onto it forever!
