The Irish Gardener

Blessed be the Irish gardener
Horticulture with a flair
Genetic knowledge , engineered
Through years, I do declare!
I envy those with green thumbs
With dirt beneath their nails
Stone fences wrapping all their dreams
Envelopes of Gaelic cells
Wonder of this rich earth
Pastels of poseys nod
I couldn't grow a blossom
Even with the help of God
I reason with my jealous side
To seed...I do abort
This girl from Dixie doth confess
I couldn't grow a wort!
