The Old Man and the Dolphins

I dream of pods of dolphin...playing in the water
The old man near is smiling and squints this smile...
well...sort'a
Saying hello deep ones I feel your passion here
I long to join my spirit and free swim to a clear
Place where dreams are real sometimes and old is just a word
Where smiles are there forever and pain is just unheard
I long to swim with dolphins...fly free without a care
Soar through wakes of steamers...pirouette as others stare
He sits there in his chair and laughs this hardy laugh
He knows the creatures well enough to join them in
their path
Augh to be a dolphin and entertain this man
To let him know that spirits speak to him again...and then
To let him know that sonar soars and bounces off his grin
Then let the dolphins know he nods...to swim with
them again
He was born a soul of dreams...a passion man of earth
He wears his wonder in his smile and much more underneath
He is going to leave our world for ventures no one knows
He smiles as dolphins come to play and when they come to go
Like him he came and gave his smile and generous hand
made love
He'll go again to sail away with them or high above
Its his choice to be a spirit much kinder for his soul
He came and rocked in our hearts then gains his wings
to go.
