The Rebel and the Vote

I've always been the rebel, the one who won't conform
The one who walks a different path...always from the norm
I've always been the strong one for those without a voice
The ones too scared to speak the truth when it is their choice
The rebel in me opens up with strength to voice a ride
While others turn away and feel its just another side
The ones who apathize the vote who turn away their role
As voters...then let others...take the Harris Poll
I'm okay with the issues as long as I am free
Its a done deal anyway...He won't win because of me
Or lose its just another ploy to exercise my right
I'd rather talk about it than offer up what might
Be taking time away from work or golfing the last hole
Afterall I'm just a vote I won't make or break the role.
The right to vote is a way I live within from day to day
Its okay to miss sometime but don't take it all away.
Theres you the one who turns his head with all his obligations
The most important one was when you supported our great nation
You flounder with vast promises and speak of this election
Its all a ploy to make us think you have some small direction
But guess what happened this time friend...the election took a blow
Your vote was counted as a loss because you didn't show
Yep I am the rebel who votes her choice but I just count as one
The guy who speaks the loudest...didn't even come
They haven't seen you at the polls but you partied all that night
You voiced opinions loud and clear just didn't feel it right
To waste your time election day and heres a thought for you
I may just be a rebel friend but you and your vote flew
Out the window with the rest who sat on laurels bed
Who made this election ludicrous and very, very sad
I don't blame the ones who voted, they all voiced their right
Its all boiled down to rebels now and guts for glory fights
I'd like to thank you all the same you do live in my town
I'll wave hello and pass on by...your word means nothing now
