Poem

Untold Yesterdays

My son Tom left home just yesterday
Returned today with his wife
All those years gone by
Remembering all those yesterdays
Now they just lay in wait for the telling

I spoke with Tom of his yesterdays.
Instead he spoke of his today's
All those yesterdays
They keep coming to mind

Tom came home today with his son
I watched him create yesterdays
With his son

Will the memory of yesterdays
Be spoken to his son?
Will today's be spoken instead?
