My life is like a summer's rose
Its effervescent scent bestows
The warm dew drops on velvet leaves
As page to page my days are seiged
With thoughts surreal of fireflies play
The lanterned flips of summer's haze
The dragonfly with winged tuffs
The swoop and dodge of rotors buzz
I swim along upon a breeze
I light there on your white dress sleeve
To risk this dream to be with you
As roses scent the sky so blue
The amber of a drugged sunset
Still bless this rose you can't forget
Then let her fly and come again
Enrich the air with summer's rain
To hear with her the tides come in
To be the thought that she befriends
This rose for you is blossoming
Your garden's where she plays
Look for her in a tuff of green
In clovers swish and sway
I am your urge...that private thought
I am the rose just now
I am the one who waits in line
And never makes a sound
I see this time for betterment
To subtle ways so true
I watch the days go slowly by
Then open this rose for you.
