Who I Am

I am not a puppet on a string or a porcelain doll that you can put on a shelf...
I am a human being with feelings, thoughts and movement...
For one to try to manipulate or think for me is one that I call a FOOL...
I have taken a stand in this world and I shall be heard very clearly...
I am who I am and if one cannot accept me for “me”, then please, move on...
I have crawled deep within my heart and soul not only to find scars of pain but to also find peace and tranquillity...
I often wondered what it was that made me tick and what a wonderful surprise I did find...
I am one who goes with the punches and accepts all that comes my way...
I take a lot to heart and now have learned to toss out what I feel should not be allowed in...
I love people for who they are and not for what I feel they should be...
I take the good with the bad...After all, isn’t that what makes us a who we are...
For one to judge another, is for one not to see their own faults...
I can honestly say that the few who have said they loved me did not, for they truly did not know me...
The world has become oblivious to how it use to be and how it should be...
We have forgotten our true priorities and real values...
It is time to open our eyes and see what it is that is truly important...
Remember that old saying: “Make Love and Not War”...
Time to get back to the basics and enjoy life to it’s fullest...
I am far from being perfect and, goodness, will never claim to be...
I am, though, one who has opened their eyes to see all that I have lost...
Now is the time for me to gather up all that has been misplaced and put it back into its correct space and perspective...
I have control of my life and who that I shall permit into it...
There is a philosophy that I live by and believe in: “For every negative, there is always a positive”...
As I see it, if I allow you to knock me down once, that is my mistake, but if I allow you to knock me down twice, then the laughs on me...
So, cut the strings that hold me prisoner and let me free...
take me off the shelf, dust me off and let me be “ME”.
