Who I Am

Please come in and pick a soft chair
Today it rained but the night is fair.
A little about me you would like to know?
I'll do my best to write you and show
Who I am and what I can do--
As I describe myself to you!

I live in New Jersey, the Garden State
With summer at the shore a yearly date.
The jetty bay greets the tidal sea
As North Wildwood beckons to me.
The charm of Cape May holds the lure
Of romantic days held once more.

I've been many things, so come take a look...
(Italian meals are my favorite to cook)
Secretarial jobs held in earlier years,
Drag racing cars while stripping gears
Are memories from the past at 54,
Today I decorate cakes, a job I adore.

Wedding flowers I design with flair,
Veiling crowns for the bridal hair.
The bouquet she will proudly hold,
While tabled flowers are great I am told.
Sequins and pearls cover each thing
As the wedded hearts begin to sing.

My children are grown, my part done
Can I be wrong to seek some fun?
Divorced twice and alone I stand.
Maybe someday, a loving hand
Will reach fondly to touch mine,
With golden thread my soul to twine.

Nature and music bring joy each day
Astrology and I Ching guide my way.
(Did I mention Cyber life and terrific friends?)
Watching hockey lifts a smile to my face
As laughter and cheers delight in the pace.
Writing poetry is a treasured rune...

Ginny is how my friends know me best
But Virginia I boldly ink on any test.
(The real importance is what the heart sends!)
Soft`rain is my byte writing name
As I wish you love, it's all the same!
