Weep for the Dolphins

The oceans of hope where happiness abounds
Teeming with Dolphins and laughing love sounds
They flip their tails and ride the crest
They hover in pods and try their best
To be the mammals of a thirst
For love and peace...with nature first
Their sonar flows with constant ease
They flow with leatherbacks on a sea breeze
They respect both earth and seacoast lands
They smile with gentle play toward sands
Where love of this woman stands alone
Then hears their call to clean up their home
Grace with style...light years above
The down to earth of natures love
The wasteful here of man on earth
The greed of money often birthed
The work...the stress...the world of wars
Of good old boys and their toys
The fated folks who know but can't
Combat the evil without a chance
Polluted oceans...dulled salt waters
Life styles gagging life in slaughters
Beautiful Dolphins souls who faintly
Ask us all to stop the tainting
They don't trash our air...cast off oils
They don't drain acids in open boils
They don't cause tumors from nuclear waste
They taste the filth of our own traits
Those going downhill like last minute hours
Rusted shut tears that cascade in showers
These mammals...our gift...their alarm quietly shared
For cleaning up planets...when so few of us care
Tears of the Dolphin...echoed cries from the deep
Oceans are fading...filth slowly creeps
We inherit a world we pollute and we sour
We borrow the future from children of ours
We control with rules put greed in our pockets
We push daily tensions with atomic rockets
We hold off the earth place her on retainer
Ignore loving Dolphins while crude flows from freighters
The folks of our world...the ones we elect
The ones with our future...their lack of respect
We'll cry too late for the clean up that's due
Now I weep with the Dolphins...for all men and you.
