John C. Sparks
Poem

How shall the common the sacred discern
When erudition determines the way
To celestial heights and brilliance of day,
Perplexing the humble who simply yearn
To rest upon God and God’s will to learn?
And gladly these same ne’er came to stay
In forums of light where minds never pray
For simple instruction from Wisdom’s urn.

Yet triumphs each meek and gentle soul
Who travels by faith attuning their head
To hear the soft whispers stirring inside,
Fair summons of love restoring to whole
Those who cry Abba, my Father as led
Once intellect simply...disowns its pride.
