Poem

Slugfest

I mentioned I had caught some slugs
And one big pregnant snail.
I read I cannot throw them out
Or I can go to jail.

The garbage barrel says on top,
DEAD ANIMALS - NOT HERE !
If I should put them in alive
They'll all escape I fear.

To flush them down the toilet
I could never sit with ease
For fear they might crawl up on me
Somewhere around my knees.

To bury them out in the yard
Their babies might still hatch
And then another problem comes
I'd get another batch.

I better leave them all alone
Not hit them where they live
And buy my veggies at the store
And ask them to forgive.
