Smiles And Hugs

Into this world came a bundle of joy
To be hugged and held real close
As we all smiled when we heard It's a boy
And mother and father smiled the most

Can I hold him, a sound from the back
I'm next you held him last
These are the sounds and there is no lack
Of people to hold him and at times we lose track

A smile or a cry is always heeded
And a rush to his side with whatever is needed
Whether a hug, a dry diaper, or a smile
In an instant someone is always there in royal style

Little Joey turned three just today
We are all here to honor him in every way
Smiles, a cake and outstretched arms just as before
Mother It's my turn, and Sister won't let me hold him some more

The years go by and Joey is a teenager now
Dad, can I use the car? I have a date
These are the sounds that are heard and there is no lack
Dad smiles and sometimes he will lose track

Do you take this women to be yours forever
To have and to hold until death do you part?
Smiles, a cake and outstretched arms just as before
Everyone was there for Joey, with smiles and hugs galore

Into this world came a bundle of joy
to be hugged and held real close
As we all smiled when we heard It's a boy
And mother and father smiled the most

Can I hold him a sound from the back
I'm next you held him last
These are the sounds and there is no lack
Of people to hold him and at times we lose track
