Poem

Talking To A Survivor

those who survived are lucky
not many got that chance
children and parents seperated
as quick as a glance
this the survivor said and cried
all the Germans did was dance

proud of all the deaths they caused
this the survivor said and cried
over his loss of family
and the many friends who died
some jews were lucky
a few even got to hide

they try to run away from the camps
the furnaces, the deaths
when they walked into the gas chambers
they drew their last breaths
this the survivor said and cried
he said there was quite a mess

what did we ever do to them he asks
why did so much blood have to be shed
why did they attack us
qhy are so many people dead
as a survivor he knows
of manypeople who to death they bled

all he could do was watxh them be shot
the Germans said it was time for them to say goodbye
the survivor said it's all their fault
that so many people had to die
and I know he is right
but now all I can do is cry...
