How’s the family?<br>Haven’t seen you in an age!<br>Meant to call you; been too busy<br>Trying to make a living wage!<br>Didn’t I tell you? I’m promoted!<br>I’ve become department head.<br>Now I’m busy every minute;<br>My life’s not a feather bed!<br>Did I tell you ‘bout my office?<br>I’ve got thirty employees.<br>They need constant supervision<br>Or they do just what they please.<br>Don’t dare trust my secretary!<br>Always check what he does - twice!<br>Try to tell him how to do it,<br>But he won’t take my advice.<br>If I had the time, I’d fire him.<br>I’d find someone competent,<br>Then perhaps my load would lighten;<br>I’d get more acknowledgment!<br>I’d soon get the staff in order<br>If I had the time to spare,<br>But my work load’s so excessive<br>Time is something I can’t share. <br> Things would run a lot more smoothly<br>If my boss would do his bit!<br>I can’t think how he keeps his job;<br>Seems I’m always doing it.<br>Oh! my soul, the time is flying.<br>Fraid I’m going to have to go.<br>Think I’m needed in the office.<br>They depend on me, you know!<br>Sorry we can’t talk much longer:<br>Enjoyed listening to your views.<br>Good we had this conversation:<br>So good hearing all your news!<br>Glad I met you!
