I was just a soldier boy, returned from a foreign land.
Had fought through many battles, lost some of my best friends.
Nothing seemed to matter, the world all seemed so dark.
Until I met her on the day, that rekindled my lifes spark.
It's right to grieve for your many friends, who died for freedomssake
But I'm sure that they would everyone, want you a life to make.
Do not let them die in vain, and grieve your life away.
Come with me let's live the life for which they had to pay
She came to me in my time of trouble, when my way I did not know,
She gave me peace ,put my mind at ease, when my spirit was solow.
You did not start that awful war was what she said to me,
You only went and did your part to keep our country free.
Mans inhumanity to man, GOD help us all to understand,
Why our young men should go and suffer so,
Lets seek peace with all our might, ever working day and night
That no more to war they'll have to go.
I'm happy now and want to give my very best to live
To HONOR those that payed the way that I might live until thisday,
To write this verse of humble praise to those who died for you andme to keep our country free.
