Bernard Gluck
Poem

Winter Feeder

That Bernie's for the birds!
A group of sparrows gather 'round
From their searching on the ground
Fly right to the feeding tray
Hoping there are seeds today.
Surely, he did not forget
Yes, there are enough and yet,
Hungry birds prefer to scrap.
Beating wings at others flap.
Hope to get it all that way.
Other birds come join the fray
Then a dove comes quickly by.
He'll drive some off; at least, he'll try.
It's Nature's way to stay alive;
Some must go, but most survive.
