I wrote a Poem several years ago
About a chance I took,
A change, a look!
It was a move, from stress to life anew
To country air and friends I knew
I found this life so different, strange,
I had to wonder, did I want this change?
We acquired land so large, no fences round
And freedom found
The people kind and sharing all,
The gossip, cards, Community Hall
Many views, strongly held by one and all,
Quiet strife, opinion strange
Was this the life I strongly sought?
Was I wrong to take that peek?
I have a thought. Expensively bought?
You try to move from what you knew
Seeking that different life that allowed you to do
Just what you hoped God meant for you
I wonder now, was it meant to be?
A life so strange from what I knew
I love the life, the nature found, the trees, the wind
Birds and creatures abound
I miss the pavement, the lights at night
The bustle, shopping and city light
Anonymous there, but here it’s not,
They know you now
Depth unknown, no head shall bow.
This story old
Striving anew for something, there
Perhaps, is not for you.
God gave us thought a will to use
What the mind to seek, but not abuse.
People are different
Who am I to judge?
Some are good, some hard to budge
I’ll give it a try, will offer my best
God grant the test will give me rest.
