Somewhere on a sun-drenched isle,
Far away on a lonely shore,
There in peace may I rest a while,
And the rest of the world ignore.
A carefree life for once my style,
Without charades which I deplore.
A life removed from high profile,
Where no one bothers keeping score.
Allow me respite in far exile,
The simple life let me explore,
The side of the sea my domicile.
This and no more do I implore.
There in peace may I rest a while,
Those at war remain afar off-shore.
On my isle, no need for guile,
As I find rapport before my door.
