When Grandma danced the two-step
She was just fifteen
She was the envy of the ball
She was the village queen!
When Grandma danced the wedding waltz
She was twenty-two
She wore a pure white wedding veil
As she said I do.
When Grandma danced within her heart
To celebrate a birth
She held her newborn close to her
And blessed her God of earth
When Grandma danced to fifty years
The anniversary waltz
She counted all her blessings
And never looked at faults
When Grandma slowly walked the hill
And laid Grandpa to rest
Her heart was sad, yet as she wept
She knew she'd done her best
**********
Now Grandma dances to Rocky Top
The like we've never seen!
For though she's just turned eighty-nine
She's STILL the village queen!
