I work at the local hospital as a supervisor and go round all departments all times of day and night - alone.
One Sunday in late October 1998 I was called to an area that had a burst sewar and the council had seen to it and had gone, I had to go and check the area on my own and lock every door behind me as I went in.
It is a very large area with little clinics every three to four yards and very dim even whith the lights on. I thought nothing of it as I have many places like this to go into. When I arrived at the little clinic where the burst had been I put on the light and looked around, it smelled foul and the walls were covered in a black sludge.
I was working out the best way to get this cleaned up when suddenly I felt arms or somthing surrounding my whole body, I felt it but could not see it. The feeling I had inside was terrible, I did not turn around because if I had I knew I would see what I didn't want to see and so I kept my eyes held downwards.
My body felt weak and feable and I had a long way to go to get out but get out I must as this was a very bad feeling. I unlocked every door and re-locked them after I got through them, this terrible feeling of arms encircling me was still there and I still held my eyes down it was as though whatever it was I was giving it a sort of piggyback.
At last I closed and locked the last door but, it was still with me until I reached the main entrance around 150 yards away and then it seemed to melt away. I was told that where I was at was once the old mortuary. I have worked in the new mortuary many times and been in very lonely places but never had this feeling before or since and would not wish it on anyone else.
