The Face
Ghost

submitted by Ashley

When I was a little girl, I lived in Wisconsin, with my mom, dad and four brothers and my only sister. We lived in an old house, on top of a hill. I guess you could say that it was secluded. No one was around for miles. Most people lived in town. Our backyard was practically all woods, trees all around. We had always heard stories of the hill being haunted, but I have always been one of those people that won't believe it untill they see it.

One night, I had about four friends over. We were all up in my parents room. Everyone else was downstairs, all together, playing a card game at the kitchen table. We had the had candles lit for light, nothing else. But was even scarier, was that it was raining. A huge storm had hit that morning.

The only deck on the house was the one for my parents room. There was no stairs going down to the ground, so there was pretty much no way to get on it, unless you came in from my parents room. And of course we had the bedroom door closed and locked. Earlier, dad had told us about a man who was killed on that very night on the hill, when it was raining. We didn't pay much attention, but decided to be daring, which was a bad idea. That's when we went up to my parents room. That's when we started gettin scared. We were just kidding around, asking about how many people were in the room. There was always an extra person...

We went downstairs to get a quick drink, then headed back upstairs. Everything was on the floor, the candles were blown out, and yet, the windows were closed. So we lit the candles and continued playing. That's when we started hearing noises. Knocking, chains, music and more. Lighting flashed. We all looked over at the sliding door to the deck. A man was looking in with his hands over his face, fingers spread. He was like a white shimmer or a fog. Then he disappeared. We shook it off like it never happened, trying to forget it.

It must have been about five minutes later when it happened again. But this time we were all sure it was there. We opened the door and rushed down the stairs.

Everyone was just as startled by the the knockings heard( obviously the heard it too). We looked all around (and I mean everywhere) for my brother brother Gary... when we didn't we didnt find him we checked out side. But It was to dark and rainy to see anything. My friends and I started screaming, Gary was out on the deck. He was the one who did it. and stuff like that. But Gary came crawling out from under the kitchen table. He was completely dry, not one bit wet. And to this day, we still dont know who was on our deck. And like we said, it was a bad idea.
