I live in Inverness, Scotland and it was relatively easy to get from one area of Inverness to another through the local cemetry. As the easiest route to my grandfathers home from mine was through the cemetry it was a natural occurence to take that shortcut, whenever sent to relay a message. (pre my grandfather owning a telephone). I would have been 10 or 11 when this particular paranormal incident occured, I had been sent to see my grandfather, by my mother and as usual set of through the graveyard. As I walked through I noticed an elderly man bent over a grave arranging flowers, I presumed, and I turned away, but being the inquisitive child I was i wanted to see to whom the grave belonged and turned my head to look, no more than a few seconds later, and the man had disappeared. Now the way the cemetry is laid out there was nowhere anyone could have gone in such a short space of time, so that they wouldn't be seen, so I got a bit panicky and ran the rest of the way t! ! o my grandparents, which was a good ten minutes away still.
After I returned home (taking the long route) I told my mother what had happened and described the spot where I saw the ghost as by now i was sure it was. A few days later again using the graveyard as a shortcut I was with my mother and I pointed to the grave i had seen the 'man' bent over, and my mother went quite white and said that the grave was the one in which her maternal grandfather was buried. Having never known her natural mother, that side of the family was never talked about and it was the first time I knew of this now long dead relation. I know for spookiness value this story doesn't rate very high, but maybe that was just a message from somewhere letting me know there is people that I ought to know about.
The name of the cemetry is Tomnaurich which translted from the gaelic means 'hil of the fairies' to which there is a lot of folklore attatched. Which will be related to you at another date.
