I will admit, it's kind of strange explaining my story to you. It's an odd story in a sense, and is in no way made up. Years ago, I had a teddy bear hamster named "Chitter". I got him for Christmas in 1993, when I was 10(yes, I'm only 15). I loved him because he was mine. The goofy creature even let me kiss him on the nose. I had him for a year and a half before he got really sick. My mom, brother, and I had spent the night at my Grandma's since my dad was out of town. We left Chitter home, since he actually got carsick. When I returned to my room, I noticed something was wrong. He had a cut by his left eye, and the eye was bulging and swollen and red in coloring. He was tired, and din't eat as much.
I enticed my mom to drag me to the vet's office in hope of healing my hamster. The vet in turn presented me with a salve that had to be rubbed on his eye. I made my mom do it, but I had to feed him water with an eye dropper, since he hadlock jaw as well. Chitter lasted about a week, and then, I came home from my friend's birthday party, peered in the cage and realized he didn't look well. He was still alive when I ran to get my mom, but upon my return he died. Devastated, I had my parents bury him in the back yard. I couldn't watch.
Later that night, I said a prayer for Chitter's "soul" and went to sleep. Now, where the cage was located was in our dining room, right beneath mine. Chitter had a noisy wheel he ould run on every night, and I could hear it. It was 8:30pm, and I missed hearing it. I fell asleep. At 12:00am, I was woken by a strange, familiar noise. The wheel. I got quietly out of bed and tiptoed downstairs. The wheel was spinning to a s! ! top when I got there. My dad was still away, and my brother was asleep in my mom's room. It hadn't been them. I was SCARED. I turned to run up and tell my mommy of the occurence, when a shadow caught the corner of my eye. It was small, and on the table next to the cage. I turned, and it disappeared. Just then, I heard something like the sound of a bird's wings beating. I saw a flash of white wings and then they too, disappeared. The dining room's windows are always shut tight, and we never have owned a bird. I raced upstarirs and fell asleep. The next morning I came downstairs and glancd in the dining room. There, next to the cage on the table, were food pellets and teddy bear hamster hairs.
