This story actually happened to my grandmother, but it is still a little creepy. It was actually Christmas night and every year a family member has a party at their house where we all meet and hang out. Well, my grandmother lives with us she doesn't really like going to our family functions because it is not her blood family.
It is only her family by marriage. So on Christmas night she was alone down in our family room and she noticed my dog at the time, Buster, was growling and barking at our hallway. She really thought nothing of it until our fire alarm went off. My grandma knew she was there alone so she got up to check things out and as soon as she got to the bottom of the stairs, our fire alarm was located at the top of the stairs, the alarm turned off. She went back in the family room and sat back down and the alarm went off again. And once again she got up and the alarm turned off when she reached the bottom of the stairs.
This happened about 3 times and finally on the fourth time, she got up and when she got to the bottom of the stairs, the alarm turned off only this time there was a heavy breathing of a man right next to her directly in her ear. That's when she decided to call my aunt's house and make us come home. She was a little too scared to stay there alone. Other things have happened in my house like us seeing figures and fauctes going on and off by themselves and toilets flushing, but nothing that we're not used to. So I will tell those stories another time. My parents know that our house is haunted and they all still live there. I just recently moved out with a friend into an apartment, but even before I moved out, I wasn't scared.
